Hormones and abuse of antibiotics are my biggest concerns. Food safety is another.

The shock cone can form during during subsonic flight as well depending on the atmospheric conditions. Also, I don't buy that this effect is limited to "transonic" motion. What should we make of the condensation trails that form from the wingtips of airliners taking off in humid air when the temperature is near the dewpoint? I've also seen condensation clouds around the wing surfaces even though we're certainly not in transonic flight.

Brief physics lab intro to bow/shock waves with a link to a neat applet for understanding how they're created

Wow, interesting how they got the same response!

2009 Jan 19 05:30 (#4075.12356):

luckily when things like fixies make year end mainstream media lists it means the trend is dead.

BTW, been seeing lots of single speed bikes but more and more of them are not fixies but freewheel.

when you see the shock wave through the face makes you kinda wonder what was happening to their brain.

Whoa, sorry. Haven't been keeping up with my RSS feed of late.

1) happy birthday AE!!!
2) Habcous, glad to see you're keeping the dream of the internets alive!
3) Concerning the pact, I have said y'all a couple of times while teaching because it's a decent gender neutral way of addressing the class
4) Valatan, I take umbrage with your statement. I am still a master-baiter, although I spend 0% of my time on fark now

2008 Nov 11 08:19 (#4040.12120):

yawn.

Was something supposed to be going on in those videos? I guess those pedestrians were walking pretty cool. Maybe it was the driving? NYC driving is awfully tough from what I hear. Was it a city video tour? huh.

Friends of pablo's? WTF, he grew up in kansas or some crap, they don't even have hills there. Haven't you heard any of my mesa bombing stories (timid by comparison of course)? Or the toys-r-us hill (I powerslid on the way down but I was wearing sandals and clocked 30 in the bottom stretch) that my friends bombed before the longboard craze hit (they clocked 50+)?

Have I got no cred with this scene at all?
