50 NES Quotes Every Gamer Should Know - time on AE for an old school "list" post. Some of them are pretty memorable although it turns out I didn't actually play a lot of these games. I do definitely remember the referenced scene from Golgo 13...hot stuff. Also this provides me a chance to point out to habcous that the unsanitized Soda Popinski of Punch-Out fame really existed and was called Vodka Drunkenski.
They missed one of the best: Castlevania 2's "Get Silk bag from graveyard duck to live longer."
OK, point conceded. Speaking of Punch-Out (well, sort of), this list of proposed end zone celebrations was pretty funny and had a reference.

I played far more of those games than I care to admit.
And yes, the password system in Faxandadu was ridiculously obnoxious. Good luck distinguishing upper case letters from lower case letters, and the zero from the upper case O! If you get one letter wrong, then no password for you! I understand why they messed with the passwords, I just don't understand why using some unbreakable encryption scheme against 8 year olds in the '80s was entirely necessary.
