Physics promises wireless power. I couldn't figure out how they planned to do this. Perhaps the signal got lost in the noise of a journalist's inexpert recounting.
The only thing I came up with is long-distance evanescant fields from some radio-frequency resonantor. But to have an appreciable quality factor at that frequency (and thus low losses) I think you'd need a very very sharp resonance. Discuss.
