The word is that someone (someone=zieglerfe) likes mix-tapes. Or, mix CDs, as the case may be. Well, after much pestering it's probably time to announce the new-and-improved AEthermix, which will take the mix concept into the 21st century...
Were you perturbed to realize during AEthermix 1.0 that you'd have to burn nearly 20 copies of a CD? (Actually: were you not at all perturbed until you finally sat down and started only to realize it would take all night?) We want to simplify matters by asking for one copy of your mix in the form of MP3s and cover art graphics files. They can be delivered to us via sneakernet or a soon to be set up FTP server. In turn, we will duplicate many data CDs and return them to you (in person or by mail) ready to be dumped onto the ol' iPod or your favorite media player. (If that all sounds like jibba-jabba to you, read more about how to create your masterpiece at mrflip's handy reference site).
Reply below if you're interested! We're tentatively thinking of making the due date Dec. 1 so you can work on it during Thanksgiving and we can distribute in town to everyone (everyone=mrflip) before they leave for winter break.
agh! i have a mix idea i'm growing quite fond of, but have no chance of implementing it before dec 1 (work? nah, i'll be in brazil... i know, you feel so sorry for me. :)
mrflip's handy reference site?
I'm, obviously, down with the sickness... as soon as I get the FTP going I'll put up slightly more germaine guidelines.
I'm in. Has anyone put up the FAQ yet, because I'm already thinking of some questions?
I'm in as well. Since I have nothing else to do with my time.
You know I'm all for it. There will be a Holiday party at my house on the 9th of December where we will receive the CDs as well as use the good Christams dinner ware taht we got as a wedding present.
zing!
pow!
OK, my contribution won't be very creative this year, but I refuse to be left out of this music discovery party.
